What a wonderful concert!

Sunday 25th September saw the overdue return of the Maldon Orchestra to St Leonard's Church in Southminster for a concert entitled As Time Goes By, to raise funds for Knightswood Day Care Centre, Dengie. Forty-one performers took to the stage under the baton of their Music Director, Ron Bewers to perform a varied programme of light, symphonic music along with guest vocalist, Colin Bellett.

The packed audience enjoyed tunes such as Mozart's Horn Concerto, The Wellerman, Cruella deVil, a medley of tunes from Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band, along with singalong tunes of When I'm Sixty Four and What a Wonderful World. Refreshments were served at the interval and the event raised an amazing £800 for the benefit of Knightswood.

We have received this message from Knightswood:

"The Maldon Orchestra put on a sensational performance and organised the whole concert in aid of Knightswood.

Thank you doesn't seem enough but we are so grateful for your time and thoughtfulness. Your donation will go a long way in helping us support the local community. Well done Maldon Orchestra"

Maldon Orchestra now look forward to their next concert which will be at Boreham Village Hall on Sunday 18th December at 3pm and will include the vocal talents of Mr Colin Bellett once again.

They will be raising funds for the St Andrew's Church, Boreham restoration fund.
