Cable Street Blues

This was the second collaboration with the Maldon Drama Group, the first being Hope Flowers (see Nov 2018) which Neil Fisher wrote to commemorate the centenary of the end of the WW1. Cable Street Blues again written by Neil, was set between the wars and staged on consecutive nights, Friday 20th and Saturday 21st October 2023, to raise funds for the David Randall Foundation. This created new challenges as our players had not played two concerts in two days but they rose to the challenge.

An amazing 46 players turned out to perform in the Stage Hall in the Plume Academy in Maldon across the two days to capacity crowds on both nights, and raised over £3,000 for the DRF. This is the review of the show.

As an update on this, I am delighted to report that the event raised an amazing £3,054.15 for the David Randall Foundation and at a recent rehearsal, members of the Maldon Drama Group and the David Randall Foundation came along so that the presentation of the cheque could be made. Well done everyone.
