Christmas at the Hawthorns

As we said goodbye to 2023, I realise that I haven't posted a review of our Christmas concert at the Hawthorns Retirement Complex. This was in the diary for much later than we would have liked but our players rallied round and 43 performers made the journey to Braintree to entertain an audience of residents and friends of the Orchestra with 60 minutes of festive favourites.

Colin Bellett joined us again to add his vocal talents to the proceedings and we raised an amazing £500 for Marie Curie Nurses.

Special thanks goes to Lynn who found herself playing a solo on her cello for one of the tunes and she did brilliantly.

Our thoughts now turn to 2024 which will be a celebration of 75 years of music making in Maldon. We will be reflecting on how it all began to where we are now.
