There is nothing like a new venue to start a season of concerts off to a flying start.
On Saturday 25th April, the Maldon Orchestra traveled to Chelmsford for the first concert of the year at Christ Church in New London Road, Chelmsford. Usually the performance home for the Essex Symphony Orchestra, they were very excited to see how they would sound in such a prestigious venue. They weren't disappointed.

The concert was performed for the benefit of Farleigh Hospice who were on hand to provide the interval refreshments and information about the work that they do.
The Orchestra performed their usual mixture of light, abridged classical music right through to swing and film tunes. The evening was heralded a huge success, raising £900 for the Farleigh Hospice and it was agreed that a return visit to Christ Church should added to the calendar for future concerts.
