Joint concert with the Essex Police Choir

We were invited along to have a joint concert with the Essex Police Choir at St Lukes Church in Tiptree last night. This was held in aid of the Colchester Hospitals Charity Cancer Care Unit. The EPC provided a 30+ strong mixed voice choir performing a program which included Feeling Good, May It Be and a Simon & Garfunkel Selection. The Orchestra had 37 players who performed a program which ranged from Apollo 13, Waltzing Matilda to Tchaikovsky's Symphony No 5 Finale and Elgar's Pomp & Circumstance No. 4. They came together for From Rags to Ritz and You'll Never Walk Alone/Climb Every Mountain to produce an amazing sound which entertained the capacity crowd. This feat involved the co-ordination of the two conductors, Norman Eastbrook for the Choir and Ron Bewers for the Maldon Orchestra and was an amazing sight to see.
Special mention goes to a guest soloist, Brethan Spragg for her trumpet playing.

Everyone involved in last night's concert should feel proud at producing an excellent evening of entertainment and helping to raise £1,400 in one evening for CoHoC.
